“Whether your landscape is simple or elaborate, maintenance is the key to beauty.” — Becky Neville, Jim’s Landscape Service
Trimming and Pruning
Light trimming of tress and shrubs to maintain a tidy appearance is included in a basic maintenance service. A homeowner often has specific taste regarding the care and trimming of their trees and shrubs; we strive to follow any specific instructions you many have. Other homeowners prefer to leave the details to us and simply come home to a tidy landscape, in which case our team of experienced landscapers can achieve this goal.
Weed Control
We combine manual removal methods with chemical spot treatments, as needed, during maintenance visits to keep your landscape looking it’s best.
Lawn Care
Basic maintenance includes mowing and edging.
General Cleaning
Basic maintenance includes raking and smoothing decorative rock. This keeps the property looking “crisp” and tidy. In addition, we remove dirt, leaves, seed pods, and debris from the landscaped areas, patios, walks and driveways.
Irrigation
Basic maintenance includes regular irrigation and sprinkler system checks to ensure the irrigation timer is working properly and functioning according to the needs of your landscape. We also make any necessary seasonal adjustments.
Please note: an initial clean-up may be required to prepare your property for regular maintenance. This cost will be noted in the maintenance proposal. Cost approval for any unforeseen issues such as irrigation repair, storm damage, plant installation/removal, will be confirmed via phone, mail or email prior to completing the task.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Residential landscape maintenance plans are available for personal residences, winter or part time residences, rental and investment properties.
To facilitate your budgeting needs, we offer “flat fee” monthly billing. A free initial consultation begins your landscape maintenance service.
A landscape may require additional services and repairs throughout the year. These services may include irrigation repairs, specialized lawn care, lawn and plant fertilization, pre-emergent treatments, annual flower installation, heavy pruning of shrubs or trees, tree staking, winter lawn seeding, and frost protection covers.
Time and date stamped photos are available to you upon request.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section text_color=”#477339″ tab_id=”1590513510360-f9485183-5513″ title=”Commercial Landscape”][vc_column_text]

“Plants are the heart of your landscape and the irrigation system is the brain that makes it all work.”— Jim Neville, Jim’s Landscape Service
Efficient irrigation is key to protecting your landscape investment, especially in our dry Tucson climate. A professionally designed, installed, and maintained irrigation system will ensure proper water distribution.
Irrigation Installation
We offer complete design and installation of irrigation systems, providing many years of reliable water-saving service. If your system is just in need of an upgrade, we can provide professional advice that can save you money.
Irrigation Maintenance
As with all mechanical devices, irrigation systems require periodic maintenance. Regular inspection of the controllers, wiring, emitters, sprayers and piping is generally included in our landscape maintenance service. If you care for your own landscape, we offer an irrigation-only service package.
Irrigation Repair/Upgrade
Irrigation systems will require occasional repairs or upgrades. Malfunctioning clocks, broken or plugged emitters, misaimed sprayers, leaks, and wiring short-circuits are all common occurrences; we are trained to solve these problems.
Emergency Service Visit
Occasionally, an irrigation system may malfunction and require immediate troubleshooting assistance. Clients may call us at (520) 907-9082; we are available after hours to assist in such a case. Oftentimes, we can explain to a homeowner how to disable to system and avoid an emergency service visit.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section text_color=”#477339″ tab_id=”1590514451290-77c50517-93cb” title=”Lawn & Plants”][vc_column_text]
“Everyone enjoys the look of nice healthy lawns…but did you know that on a hot summer day in Tucson your lawn will be around 30° cooler than the surrounding asphalt or ground?”— Jim Neville, Jim’s Landscape Service
Lawn Installation
We specialize in installing winter rye-grass lawns for customers who like a lush green lawn throughout the winter. We can also design and install a new lawn with premium sod developed specifically for the Tucson climate.
Lawn Maintenance
Turf requirements vary depending on variety, soil condition, sunlight conditions, water and fertilizer usage. If necessary, we can provide soil sample analysis, which aides in determining specific lawn care needs. We design pro-active plans to keep lawns looking their best.
Lawn Repair
Occasionally other services are required to return your lawn to a state of health. These include weed control, grub control, aerification, and thatch removal. Sprinkler system repair is also available.
Additional Lawn Services
Weed Control
Eliminating weeds is essential to the health of your lawn. Hand removal and spot treatments are the most effective method of eliminating weeds from your lawn.
Grub Control
Grubs are subterranean pests that eat the roots of your lawn and plants, particularly during July and August. Plants and lawns with grub infestations can appear to be suffering from a lack of water. Systemic pesticides (chemicals absorbed into the system of a plant) are the most effective treatment. For more information on systemic pesticides, click here.
Aerification
Aerification is a process that removes plugs, or “cores”, from your lawn so that water and nutrients are better able to reach the root zone. This can be included as part of a customized maintenance plan, or added as an additional service. For more information on aerification, click here.
Thatch Removal
Thatch occurs when old and dead organic material builds up in your lawn. Thatch prevents water and nutrients from reaching the “root zone”, much like a thatched roof keeps the rain out. Thatch is removed using a process that tears the thatch from the turf and then raked up. For more information on thatch, click here.
PLANT SERVICES
“If you want to be happy for a year, plant a garden; if you want to be happy for life, plant a tree.”— English proverb
Plants bring life to your landscape. Investing in trees, shrubs, flowers and groundcovers can enhance the beauty and value of your property.
Installation
Planting trees, shrubs and flowers requires specific knowledge of plant selection, soil preparation, and proper spacing to account for future growth.
Trimming and Shaping
Trees and shrubs are trimmed for various reasons. Most often they are trimmed for clearance, views, and appearance. We understand that personal preference is a factor in trimming. Some clients request a tight, manicured look, others choose a “natural” appearance.
Heavy Pruning
Occasionally, trees, hedges, and large shrubs need pruning beyond the scope of regular maintenance. We can advise you about the need for these services.
Fertilization
Some plants require regular fertilization to maintain their health and look their best. We can advise you on whether and when this is necessary for your plants.
Removal and Replacement
We provide removal and/or replacement of unwanted, or damaged plants that are unhealthy beyond repair. We also provide stump removal.
Frost Protection Covers
Sensitive plants can be damaged when Tucson temperatures fall below 32°. We can advise about which plants are most sensitive and how they can be protected.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section text_color=”#477339″ tab_id=”1590515024499-acb1f962-7811″ title=”Landscape Lighting”][vc_column_text]
“…light is the beautifier.”— Frank Lloyd Wright, Architect
A professionally illuminated landscape creates an extension of your home’s living area. Well planned and installed landscape lighting provides safe passage through your garden or to your front door, and allows you to enjoy your landscape investment after the sun goes down. We use products manufactured by Vista, the leader in the landscape lighting industry, to ensure the integrity of your investment.”We’ve come a long way from a candle in the dark. But the concept is the same. Lighting at night shows the way, lights the path, exposes the danger and welcomes us safely homeward.” From our Blog https://valleylandscapelighting.com/finding-your-way-at-night/
Landscape Lighting Design & Installation
We offer complete design and installation of low-voltage landscape lighting systems. An existing lighting system can also be upgraded by changing light sources or upgrading individual fixtures to LED or copper.
Landscape Lighting Maintenance
Like any complex “machine”, your lighting system requires periodic maintenance. These tasks may include checking/replacing bulbs, checking for damage to fixtures, checking voltage levels, checking timers/photo cells, checking for short circuits, keeping groundcovers pruned & away from fixtures, checking/cleaning lenses and fixtures, checking and greasing gaskets, rings & sockets. Yearly maintenance packages are available for existing systems. We offer one year of free maintenance when we install a complete lighting system. Decorative rock creates a bold design statement and reduces dirt and dust in and around your home.
Decorative Rock
Proper installation of decorative rock is more involved than just spreading gravel. Preparation of ground, slope, thickness of application, and care for existing plantings and irrigation emitters are critical to the desired outcome.
Maintenance
In order for decorative landscape rock to retain a “crisp” appearance, it needs to be raked and smoothed on a regular basis. Decorative rock tends to slide on slopes and hills and needs to be moved back to its original location. This service is provided with our general landscape maintenance.
Refresh
Over time decorative rock thins as a result of migration into the soil, and removal during the maintenance process. We will show you a sample of the rock before refreshing.
WEED CONTROL
Hand-removal
Hand removal of weeds is performed as part of our general landscape maintenance service, and is usually sufficient for occasional weeds.
Spot-treatments
Stubborn weeds, or small weeds covering a large area, will need spot chemical treatment, which has a response time of 24-48 hours, and it is highly effective. Upon request, we can add an colorant to identify sprayed areas.
Pre-emergent
Pre-emergent is a liquid product that creates a barrier in the top layer of soil and “kills” the weed as it pushes through. Pre-emergent is less effective in areas with heavy traffic.
PROPERTY CLEAN-UPS
A clean-up is is necessary when a property is overrun by weeds and overgrowth. A clean-up includes weed control, pruning, trimming, raking, blowing and landscape debris removal.
Initial Clean-Up
An initial property clean-up is recommended and is often necessary before landscape maintenance service begins.
One-Time Clean-Up
One-time property clean-ups are usually requested for real estate or investment properties. These can be performed without the attachment to a regular maintenance service. We can bundle quarterly clean-ups into a package, or perform them “as needed”.
STORM DAMAGE REPAIRS
Summer monsoons can bring heavy wind and rain. This can result in damaged plants, uprooted trees or debris blown into your yard. If your property requires repairs or removal of storm-related damage, call us at (520) 907-9082 or email us immediately.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][/vc_tta_accordion][/vc_column][/vc_row]
